Psychological Assessment and Testing
A psychological assessment may be conducted to yield a diagnosis and/or specific recommendations to improve any experienced distress. An assessment always involves a clinical diagnostic interview during which information about current symptoms and history of multiple areas of functioning are gathered. When helpful to the assessment process, specific psychological tests can be added to the assessment to aid in the diagnostic and treatment planning process. A psychological assessment is generally completed during the first one or two sessions, before therapy begins.
